Interactive Design & Development

Director of Web Development, Ithaca College Television

During my senior year of college, I worked on ICTV's Executive Staff as Director of Web Development. This entailed maintaining and updating the currect website (Left) on a daily basis. As an additional effort in the Spring, I eagerly took on the role of creating a foundation for a new website. Through this, I learned leadership, communication as well as time and project management skills. Through recruiting a small team and an assistant, I stood at the forefront of the project providing direction, teaching skills, generating assignments, holding weekly meetings, and tracking progress.
Using research and knowledge from classes, I learned up-to-date design and development skills, the immense importance of user experience and user testing, and various other skills that led to successfully laying the groundwork for a new website.

Emerging Media Project

For my junior Emerging Media project, I joined a small team to envision Ithacare, an ecological impact tool aimed to educate users about their everyday impacts on the environment. In particular, I worked on conducting research and developing the website which was used as a promotional tool for the app, which included information, features, and curated content.
Created with Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Virtual Reality Concussion Therapy Research Project

During the Spring of 2017, I joined an independent research project in which I designed and developed a VR game intended for therapeutic purposes. Particularly for people who have suffered from a concussion injury and need to perform certain exercises in order to make progress to ensure a safe recovery. In this game, the person is first presented with a scale of 1 - 10, (1 best, 10 worst) in which they rank how they physically feel. Based on that number, the person is then shown a simple cube, in which they have to pick up and turn their head side to side while keeping their eyes fixated on a point of the cube. In the corner is a repitition count, tracking the number of times the person completes one rep. Once the exercise is complete, the game will then ask the person to again rate how they are physically feeling on the scale.
Created with Unity API and C# scripts.

Animal Crossing Virtual Reality Ride

For an experience design project, a small group and I decided to create a virtual reality ride to promote the highly anticipated new release of Animal Crossing, a game which allows the player to run their own town. In our ride, the user takes a trip through several different scenes which explain the story of arriving in a new town to meeting new people and exploring new places.
Created with Blender.

User Experience - Conference Booth Design

For a user experience class project, I decided to make a conference booth promoting the second generation of Microsoft's Hololens. I aimed to keep the design sleek, clean, and simple as to make the product the main point of interest. The booth includes visual information on the inside walls along with a large video showing off what the product can do. In the center of it all is the product itself, which is set up in a way where multiple people can demo it at the same time.

My Dorm Room

Project for my Motion Graphics & Animation class.

Toddler Shape Recognition Game

For one of my Computational Foundations of Emerging Media projects, I decided to build a shape recognition game for toddlers. The educational purpose intended is to increase detail-orientation. The goal is to direct the animal or shape in the center of the screen to the shape it matches. Using different sounds for positive and negative reinforcement ensures a learing aspect, as sound is one of the most important factors. For navigation, I paired the game with a MaKey MaKey connected to plato to be more suitable to use as opposed to small arrow keys.
Created with Photoshop, JavaScript, and Phaser API.

Web Development Internship, ArtsQuest

During the summer of 2017, I worked as a Web Development Intern at ArtsQuest. ArtsQuest is a non-profit organization providing access to art, culture and educational programs for the diverse community. I maintained and updated several of the websites, which included: building new pages, keeping content current, and completing any online requests sent to me from various departments. Additionally, I uploaded content to the Musikfest app, which was used a mobile schedule for attendees of the nation's largest free music festival.

Interactive Media Project

Since I am an avid fan of immersive media, I decided to do one of my Interactive Media projects on the most popular form of entertainment broken down from a business standpoint. On the left, the pie chart ranks consumer interest. Then, it is broken down even further to determine what in particular was most popular at that time. The chart on the right explores more in-depth, things like: who is the consumer? And, will this particular market continue to flourish exponentially in the future?

Designs

These are a few designs I created while experimenting with Adobe Experience Design. An elegant, a minimal, and a bold look.
